I understand why Kurt Angle had to turn heel. Bobby Roode needs to beat a huge and credible main eventer at BFG to solidify his ascent to the top as the new TNA World Heavyweight Champion. Angle is best suited for that role.

Bobby has been riding an incredible amount of momentum for months now. If there’s one thing TNA can proudly showcase right now, it’s Bobby’s main event push. He’s ready for it. It’s really his time now. I applaud TNA for getting this one right. Roode looks really humbled by this, real life and storyline-wise. I specially like the video they aired last Thursday’s Impact Wrestling showing how this opportunity has affected Roode and his family. It not only gives a lot of meaning to the title but for every wrestler in the TNA roster and their families as well. This is exactly how championships matches should be treated, especially how it affects a wrestler who will be getting his/her first shot at glory. Well done TNA!

When TNA held an X Division tournament featuring some of the top talents in the independent scene, a lot of those wrestlers impressed me. Zema Ion (kababayan!), Jack Evans and Low Ki (of course) were awesome. One man was above everyone else though, Austin Aries. He quickly got my attention with his no-nonsense style of wrestling. TNA struck gold on this one of a kind, total package guy. He looks and talks sharp, wrestles fiercely and oozes with charisma. It’s only just a matter of time before he takes that X Division Championship belt off Brian Kendrick. Austin Aries is the perfect starting point to make the X Division relevant again. Make him a fighting champion and stay that way for at least a year. It’s a stretch but worth trying considering the current situation of the X Division.

Apparently, this is Austin Aries’ second stint in TNA (didn’t follow the promotion until late 2009). Looks like he’s here to stay for good. Wish he’ll do BIG things for the X Division!

The Immortal storyline has been awful so far. Yeah it’s another NWO-style takeover but what I don’t understand is why they had to drag Fortune into this crap. I can’t imagine AJ Styles playing second fiddle to Jeff Hardy when AJ SHOULD be the top guy in this Immortal/Fortune group. Heck, he should be the TNA World Heavyweight Champion right now and not Mr. Anderson. Even though I’m a huge fan of Mr. Anderson, he’s not yet champ material. His title win lacked proper build up and it just makes him look like a transitional champion. For now, he’s the top guy until Jeff Hardy resolves his legal case next month.

Going back to AJ Styles and Fortune, I believe these guys should separate themselves from Immortal because that group is becoming crowded already. They shouldn’t be acting like dogs for Hogan and company or looking like a bunch of Rob Terry’s. 3/4 of Fortune are champions right now! AJ Styles, Kazarian and Beer Money deserve much better than this. Ric Flair, he’ll live no matter what the storyline is.

Motor City Machine Guns and Beer Money may have done just that – reinventing tag team wrestling. I watched every match they had in their recent best of 5 series and I must say overall, the series was EPIC. Paul Heyman’s interview, which was conducted by MMAFighting.com (watch it here), had an interesting part wherein he said if he was the one in charge of the show, he would’ve built up the show around the 5th and last series match between MCMG and Beer Money. It would’ve been the main event – and I couldn’t agree more. These guys tore the house down and they we’re relegated to the middle of the Impact show. It was a shame that even though this feud got a lot of buzz, the recent TNA shows (yes I’ve been watching weekly for a while now) were focused on EV2. No disrespect to those guys, but Heyman was right. They had their time, they paved the way for today’s stars and they helped the industry. Thank you but they should move on. It’s time for Beer Money, Motor City Machine Guns, Styles, Joe, Wolfe, Anderson etc. to have the spotlight.

Going back to Motor City Machine Guns and Beer Money, I hope we’ll be treated to another best of 5 or 7 series between these 2 great tag teams under a better TNA management and a better creative team. Marketing these guys as the future of the business will only do good things not only for TNA, but for the whole industry as well. Tag team wrestling is awesome – MCMG and Beer Money made it more awesome.

After feuding with the likes of Abyss, Kurt Angle, The Pope and Jeff Hardy, the young, brash and..asshole has turned a new leaf. Bischoff made the go signal to turn Mr. Anderson face after seeing the fan reaction to his Asshole gimmick. If you ask me, I wasn’t surprise Mr. Anderson quickly got over with the fans. Like I’ve said before, this guy has that ‘it’ factor. Give him a proper storyline and a nice push, he’ll definitely do wonders with that opportunity. He’s currently sort of teaming up with Jeff Hardy right now and going against the biggest heels in TNA right now, the group of AJ Styles and Ric Flair. Although I’m a bit skeptical about the quick face turn (hey, it’s nothing new in TNA ), I’m enjoying what I’m seeing from the former Mr. Kennedy. I hope he somehow prove WWE wrong in firing him last year.

Kupy Wrestling Wallpapers is back baby! Whew, that was quite a long hiatus I had there. Maybe the site needed it too and that’s why things happened these past few weeks. I won’t go into details about it but you’ll definitely see the changes I’ve made here. Basically, Kupy Wrestling Wallpapers is starting over again. Yup, 95% of the wallpapers that were done from 2006 up to now are all gone, mostly WWE stuff. Why? Go figure. Also, during the hiatus, I’ve done a lot of soul searching (lack of better term sorry) and I’ve realized that there are more stuff I can do aside from doing wrestling wallpapers..but I’m not thinking about that right now. Maybe in a month or two, I’ll be starting a new project and it’ll have the ideas I thought about during recent long break. For now, let’s move on.

Speaking of fresh starts, today’s wrestling wallpaper features someone who needed a fresh start after a WWE run and it’s none other than Mr. Monday Night, ROB!.. VAN!.. DAM! Even though his TNA debut was met with lots of criticism because of how he was badly beaten up by Sting, RVD contradicted the rumors himself that he is very much happy with his current TNA stint. You can see that he’s genuinely having a good time in TNA. His recent teaming up with Jeff Hardy and Eric Young is nothing but a perfect fit for him. Faces just having a good time. Whether he wins the TNA World Heavyweight Championship belt soon or not depends on how TNA will make use of his talent. Right now, the only thing that matters is The Whole F’n Show is uncensored and unleashed from doing what he’s really capable of showing.

Even though his recent gimmick (being undressed by his valet Chelsea) looks kinda corny, Desmond Wolfe will eventually be the top guy in TNA someday. Not only is he badass, he’s also equipped with superior wrestling skills, especially in terms of holds and submissions. The Tower of London is devastative too. He’ll be in the same league as Kurt Angle, Samoa Joe and AJ Styles soon, maybe as early as 2nd quarter of 2010. He’s the complete package, not to mention Hogan and Bischoff are high on him. That surely gives him the push he’ll get in the next few months. The Pope is VERY GOOD but I’ll still go with Desmond to carry TNA in the future.
