Man, Randy Orton’s on a roll right now. I though, at first, he can’t pull off the face persona..and to my surprise, he has been able to do it nicely. He stayed in character (which is actually A MUST) and just feuded with the likes of Edge and Sheamus. If he can just maintain this AND if Cena turns heel by joining the Nexus, as I’ve said here, Orton can be the new face of the WWE. The guy’s very capable of being the franchise player that everyone envisioned him to be years ago so I think the Cena heel turn is worth the gamble even if it would hurt kids worldwide. Then again, it’s good for the business in the long term so I suggest they pull the trigger on that one. Randy Orton is ready to become WWE’s top guy. Make it happen.

After winning the SmackDown! Money in the Bank ladder match just a few hours ago, Kane immediately cashed in his right to a World Championship match against a fallen Rey Mysterio (after he just defended the World Championship against no.1 contender Jack Swagger) moments later at the same MITB PPV. This was more than a decade in the making! He hasn’t held the WWE Championship nor the World Heavyweight Championship since the late 90s, not to mention he only his 1st WWE Title reign was just a day in total. Who knows, he might lose the title tomorrow @ WWE RAW (LOL just kidding ). Not gonna happen anyway since he’s on WWE Smackdown.
Finally, after more than 10 years, Kane is on top of the mountain again. His reign of terror and continued search for Undertaker’s mystery attacker will only intensify his hold on the World Championship (they’re dropping the Heavyweight word I guess). Of all the recent narcissistic gimmicks I’ve seen in wrestling today, Cody Rhodes pulls it off like magic. He doesn’t exaggerate things like most do, well except when he repeats that word – dashing. He’s a natural when it comes to showing off because he has the tools to do so. I’m willing to bet that he’ll be more over as a heel than his former tag team partner, Ted Dibiase Jr. by the end of 2010. Being on the SmackDown! brand also helps his cause.
His in-ring work is good but needs to improve more. He has to hit some unique offense, not just the old school ones. He was dangerously branded as a generic CAW (create-a-wrestler in videogames) before he did the Dashing gimmick. Now, I see him in another light, and it’s very promising. Way to go Cody!
