From main-eventing WrestleMania 27 to jobbing to lower-card WWE Superstarts, The Miz experienced one of the biggest career drops in WWE history in just a span of a year and a few months. With the rise of CM Punk to stardom and the likes of Alberto del Rio and Dolph Ziggler getting huge pushes, the Awesome One was forced to sidestep and give way to these stars. After coming back and winning/dropping the Intercontinental Championship, it was almost like last year again. This time though, after paying his dues, a new life has been seen on Miz’ career.
The past few weeks we’ve seen The Miz toy with the idea of turning babyface. Even though he joined Mick Foley’s team at Survivor Series, in which he got eliminated before Randy Orton, there’s always this thing that you can’t trust about the guy. He’s not yet a full-fledged good guy. We’ll see if he continues this or if he’s just making this up. Miz has a long way to go before earning everyone’s trust (and that includes myself) since it won’t be an easy ride from hereon. He’s a natural heel and we’ve yet to see how he truly works as a babyface, whether it suits him or not. I personally believe that he needs to stop mentioning his WM27 win and bragging about him being a former WWE Champion. He should act like he’s never won anything yet. That would make him hungrier and will have a big chip on his shoulder to prove to everyone that he truly belongs (and stay) in the main event scene. Let the memories of WrestleMania 27 and his previous WWE Championship run turn into dust, at least for now.
