The unholy alliance of these 2 mega personalities have every wrestling fan intrigued right now. CM Punk, together with Paul Heyman, is an explosion waiting to happen. They’re like landmines, you wouldn’t know what they will come up with every single RAW moving forward. This is probably the most (legit) rebellious tandem in wrestling history. As most of us know, these two just don’t conform with the norm. Both Punk and Heyman are equipped with unique minds and they always use it to make strong points.

Now that CM Punk is demanding attention and respect from everyone, he’s back to being the rebellious guy. The fire still burns. He seems to be more motivated and edgier when he knows he has to make a point, when he has to prove himself. His feud with Cena never gets old (at least for me) because it’s the perfect angle for him. Unable to main-event the past 7-8 PPVs despite holding and defending the WWE Championship while John Cena main-events all of them (except Royal Rumble and SummerSlam) even when he’s not in the title picture, CM Punk has had enough. His constant need to be the top guy, and be respected for it, makes him hungrier even when he’s already the WWE Champion for more than 300 days now. That alone deserves respect.

With Heyman joining his crusade, who knows what will happen each week from now on. They might form a group to back them up or just remain acquaintances and annihilate anyone who goes against their ideals.

What’s the most intriguing and compelling WWE storyline of the year so far? No it’s not Big Show’s “I should be a giant” crap..

Yes..yes yes yes it’s the CM Punk-AJ-Daniel Bryan saga, with AJ grabbing the opportunity to make a name for herself. Some say CM Punk as WWE Champion is being overshadowed by this. If you look at it that way, it does have a point..but with this angle being SOOO exciting to watch, I bet Punk doesn’t mind. This has propelled their trio to end RAW two straight weeks now and effectively kept John Cena from hogging majority of the closing segments of RAW each week. AJ has done a masterful job of portraying a crazed character, even showing a range of different emotions and actions (smiles but then slaps the crap out of you) but still trying to maintain some sort of sanity as she tries to get everyone’s attention, especially Punk and D-Bry. Even JR has taken notice and gave praise of her act. She has added intrigue and suspense to the WWE Championship match at Money in the Bank by being named the special guest referee. Will she be partial? I doubt it. Will she scrap the tweener tag, turn heel and side with Daniel Bryan, making him the new WWE Champion? Or will she finally extract revenge on her former boyfriend and keep the belt on Punk? Let’s find out in a few hours.

After trolling the WWE Universe, Y2J has revealed his true mission. He came back to reclaim what he thinks is truly his and that’s being the best in the world. We all know CM Punk has been telling everyone that he’s the best since last year. Time and time again since Money in the Bank 2011, he has proven that he really is the best right now. With Chris Jericho making his intentions clear, how will CM Punk respond to this challenge? WrestleMania 28 will be their battle ground and whoever wins that match will have the bragging rights to say he’s the best in the world AND the prestigious WWE Championship. Sheamus is the 2012 WWE Royal Rumble Winner and has earned the right to face either the WWE Champion CM Punk or the WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 28 in Miami. It has been one heck of a ride for The Great White these past couple of months. After turning face, he was able to break his losing slump and found a renewed strength to work his way to the main event ranks again. He feuded with the likes of Mark Henry, Jinder Mahal, Christian and came out looking a lot better and sharper in the ring as months go by, especially leading to the WWE Royal Rumble event. The man is on a mission to win the championship again and he may very well do so in WrestleMania 28. As for the opponent he’ll be choosing, it’s pretty obvious that he’ll go for Daniel Bryan’s World Heavyweight Championship but you’ll never know he might pull a swerve and challenge CM Punk instead.

Will we see Sheamus regain his spot on the top of the WWE ladder again on WrestleMania 28? We’ll find that out a few months from now. After WWE TLC PPV, we saw a dawning of a new era in WWE. It has no definite name like the Attitude era but that will come later. The new foundation for the WWE has been laid out by crowning these excellent wrestlers (or sports entertainers as WWE would like to call them). CM Punk retained his WWE Championship, Daniel Bryan won the World Heavyweight Championship via his MITB cash-in, Cody Rhodes defended his Intercontinental Championship successfully, Zack Ryder FINALLY won the US Title, Beth Phoenix retained her Divas Championship Belt and the team of Evan Bourne and Kofi Kingston, Air Boom, defended successfully their Tag Team Titles. And now, these guys are enjoying their success, and they deserved every bit of it. These guys worked their butts off to be in the position they are right now. Yes, they may not reek ratings right now as the RAW viewership stats showed last week..give them a couple of months or so and I believe they will be able to prove that WWE doesn’t need Cena hogging the main event scene to get ratings.

How’s it going everybody? Went on a short (and planned) vacation 2 weekends ago so I must say I’m quite refreshed and ready to make some wrestling wallpapers again! 🙂

As we already know, WWE’s newest and latest videogame got a much needed refresh. The SmackDown vs. Raw series was going downhill even before 2011. Heck, I barely played 2011. WWE ’12 is looking to change that destiny. Haven’t been following the updates about the game but I’ve read somewhere before that the action will be more natural-flowing, realistic and intelligent-looking.  That’s good news since I really hate the robotic action featured in the past SVR series. Also, the complexity of the buttons/moves are a big turn off on the SVR series. I’m not much of a gamer now as I was a decade or so ago so here’s hoping that WWE ’12 will have me hooked up on wrestling videogames again.

SummerSlam 2011 is shaping up to be another must-see WWE PPV just like the previous MITB PPV. The reason for that is simple: CM Punk vs. John Cena for the WWE Championship and the winner would go on to be the Undisputed WWE Champion.

After CM Punk made his return last week, Triple H, being the new COO of the WWE, had 2 WWE Champs on RAW. Something had to be done. Instead of stripping John Cena or CM Punk of their belts, The Game decided to do this his way and have them compete in SummerSlam for the sole ownership of the WWE Championship. This storyline intrigues me because it is fresh and involves real personal issues between HHH, John Cena and CM Punk. With SummerSlam approaching, WWE has gained steam and a steady rise in ratings because of Punk and the storyline that revolves around him. On SummerSlam, personally, CM Punk should win that match or his MITB win will look like nothing but a fluke. He has to back up that Best in the World label and losing to Cena will only mean that we’re back to the status quo he was talking about. However, regardless of who wins that night, I think Alberto Del Rio will be cashing his MITB briefcase after that and win the WWE Championship. For that scenario alone I would like CM Punk to win his match with Cena because that will give him that full babyface turn WWE’s trying to do with him. He needs to chase and climb that top of the mountain again so the fans could totally buy into his character. After a feud with Alberto, it’s going to be HHH vs. Punk at WrestleMania 28 for sure.

CM Punk = EPIC.

Right from the start of the main event, the crowd was electric for this one. CM Punk, the hometown hero, had the crowd on his hand. Make no mistake about it, the atmosphere wasn’t just because it was a Chicago homecoming for Punk, but because he got everyone’s attention ever since he cut that shoot promo on RAW 3 weeks ago. People were excited to see what will happen on his title match against John Cena and what do you know, both competitors delivered possibly the match of the year. This wasn’t a WrestleMania match but it was probably heaps better than the whole WrestleMania 27 event. It reminded me and most of the older fans how the Attitude era constantly produced these kind of electricity and matches (well, maybe not so much on the matches) weekly and on PPVs. I think we can all thank CM Punk for that. He brought fire to my/our idle passion for wrestling again.

Now that he has become WWE Champion, I think we can safely say that he has been resigned by WWE..but he will still take that much needed vacation. When he comes back, we all know he will be ready to rock the house again, and most likely, for the long haul.
